Keeping The Blues Alive

keeping-the-blues-alive

Joe Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive 501(c)(3) seeks to promote Blues Music through regularly scheduled school assemblies during Joe’s tour schedule. The program also aims to create awareness about Blues Music and its impact on our culture, to the next generation of youth. Additionally, it’s goal is to provide funding for music programs and educational scholarships.

Blues Music – the uniquely American art form, has been celebrated, embraced, and cherished for more than 100 years. Keeping the Blues Alive 501(c)(3) aspires to foster and highlight the rich, inspirational history of Blues Music through Joe’s personal experience and growth within the Blues/Rock community over the past 20+ years. These sessions will include rising artists and current Blues and Blues/Rock artists, often featuring current, contemporary interpretations of traditional American Blues songs.

Through these events, Keeping the Blues Alive 501(c)(3) endeavors to stimulate and enhance both the passion and awareness of Blues Music by exposing students to its cultivation from African American poetry, spirituals, and work songs. All of this is achieved by instilling a message that through perseverance, hard work, and dedication, one can achieve the dreams they desire.

Joe Bonamassa On Yahoo!

yahoo-logo

Fellow street teamer Jim Ruth wrote an editorial on Joe and guess what? It’s published on yahoo.com. Jim is a very dedicated street teamer and has been a fan of Joe for a long time. Street teaming can go a long way. Below is a portion of his editorial.

“Bona-who?”, is a phrase I have heard numerous times when I talk about my favorite contemporary artist to mainstream music enthusiasts. There is little doubt that many of our readers will utter the same phrase while reading the title of this article. However, “Joe Bonamassa” is a name that is becoming increasingly more familiar to music fans around the world thanks to Guitar World Magazine describing Joe as the “New Blues-Rock Titan”.

You can continue reading the full article at Yahoo.  Great work Jim!

Two Albums In iTunes Top 10 Blues

bonamassa-itunes

Almost two years after the release of Royal Albert Hall in iTunes, it is still hanging in the top 10. Joe’s RAH album comes with 19 tracks, most are exclusive to the album. The album in it’s entirety must be purchased to get all of the tracks. We are just shy of seeing 200 five star reviews for this album.

Joe’s other album in the top 10 is Dust Bowl. The album in iTunes has over 200 reviews, with 4.5 being the average rating. Dust Bowl has been in the top 10 since its release in March 2011.

These two albums are pretty impressive. Not to mention, the feedback behind each album on iTunes is great. I don’t think everyone will buy music from iTunes. I know for a fact that there are a lot of people like myself who like to have a physical copy of the album to give to others or even to get signed.

None the less, these numbers are a good indication. iTunes is the best selling digital music store on the internet. To have Joe be on iTunes is great and to have him be in the top 10 of blues is even better. It will only continue to grow and get better from this point forward. Rock on..

The Beacon Theater is one of the most well known venues in New York and in the United States. The Beacon Theater is home to many great musicians, probably mostly well known for the Allman Brothers.

The second Beacon Theater show is Friday, November 4th. Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow via Ticketmaster. If you missed out on tickets for the first show, now is your chance to get tickets. A lot of the tickets for the first show were sold through the RAH PBS Specials. Hope to see you there!

Joe Stuff On Ebay

ebay-logo

Nothing new really, but Joe has become a bigger icon on Ebay. Just checked tonight and I saw 13 pages of auctions on Ebay. Since Joe has grown, it seems that most of the auctions on Ebay are ticket listings. There are a good amount of people looking to make money on Joe tickets. Some sellers are also trying to sell autographs for near $100. That’s insane if you ask me!

How can this be stopped? It’s not easy. But I can give you some advice, so you do not end up paying top dollar..

  1. Tickets – Do you want awesome seats? Not a problem, sign up for Joe’s street team. Sign up with your information, make sure you put in your geographical info. You’ll get emails with pre-sale information, so you can get tix before they go on sale.
  2. Autographs – Too many folks are trying to rip people off on autographs. Want an autograph? Joe is always willing to sign for his fans. Just stick around after the show, he usually comes out to meet fans and take pictures.

I hope you have not been ripped off on Ebay. By not purchasing tickets or autographs on Ebay, sellers will continue to relist their items. Overtime, they will stop putting items up. You can make a difference..
