It’s Been Ten Years…

bonamassa-new-day-yesterday-live-dvd

Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of Joe’s first live DVD shoot, A New Day Yesterday Live. The DVD was shot on December 21, 2001 at Piere’s in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A lot has changed since then, this was Joe’s only show where he played with women dancing on stage. He’s  moved on from the bar scene, he no longer drives around in an astro van and trailer. Even though Joe did not have a big production team like he does now back then, Joe’s sound was still dead on. Some of you who have been Joe fans for years will agree. It was not rare to see Joe standing behind the soundboard mixing the sound to just the way he likes it. Hope everyone has a great holiday season and I know I’m looking forward to the next ten years of Joe’s career!

Live At The Beacon Near Completion

joe-bonamassa-beacon-1

We posted a few weeks back that we heard Joe’s live DVD recorded at the Beacon Theater would be released in early 2012. Kevin Shirley posted another update today on his Facebook.

“Finished mixing the Bonamassa Beacon concert in stereo yesterday. Mixing some bonus material today, an Iron Maiden song on Friday then the Beacon concert in surround sound next week, and that, my friends, will be the end of a very busy year for a Caveman! Christmas this year will be in Australia with my family and next year looks even busier….. Hang on – it might get bumpy!”

Looking forward to this release. I was at both shows (I’m sure you know!) and Joe played great both nights! Stay tuned for more details as we get them..

They are just starting to get the official release discs in. And just to confirm with everyone – all copies come with the DVD. I was told that is how they are all packaged. I hope that can clear up some confusion.

Royal Albert Hall Concert on Blu-Ray

blu_ray The Royal Albert Hall show was originally released on just DVD format. Coming to stores on October 19th will be the release of Live from Royal Albert Hall in Blu-Ray. By releasing the show in Blu-Ray, those who have 720p or 1080p TV’s with Blu-Ray players will be able to experience the concert in high definition.

This was speculated to happen after the concert was broadcasted on Palladia in HD. That proved to all of us that HD footage was out there, just not available to the general public as of yet. Within the next two weeks, advertising will kick off promoting the new release. Stay tuned!
