Joe Bonamassa Playing A Fender Stratocaster

bonamassa_strat1_400Joe is using a Fender Stratocaster during the recording sessions at Black Rock Studios. It’s amongst one of the many guitars that he is using. As you can see, he is also using a slide on his finger. I’d love to hear what Joe’s take is on playing a Stratocaster again. Back in 2007, Joe said he would stop using a Stratocaster due to what happened with Joe’s gold Stratocaster. Last I heard that guitar was given to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I’m looking forward to hearing the sound of a Stratocaster again.

  1. Really looking forward to hearing the new album. Joe said he is inspired by the Isle of Sanorini.

  2. Joe….I don’t care what kinda guitar you play…..just get to NYC with those fellas from BCC…….or ya can bring Carmine, Boogie, and Rick……doesn’t matter just get there ASAP!!! PLEASE!!!!!!! Can’t WAIT!!!!!!

  3. One of the cool things about Joe is that he could play a no-name guitar off the shelf at Wal-Mart and still sound amazing. Seems perfectly natural for him to re-visit old friends from time to time, especially as the music evolves.

I was under the impression the gold sparkle Strat went to auction for a charity–maybe even EC’s Crossroads facility? Not sure.

  4. Hi Bill,

    >>> Joe said he would stop using a Stratocaster due to what happened with Joe’s gold Stratocaster. <<<

    What happened to it?

    Thanks!

    Bill G.
